Career Profile

Keep your work history, skills, and credentials accurate and complete.

Managing Work Experience

Keep your job history up to date.

Your work experience is extracted from your resume on import. From your Career Profile you can:

  • Edit job titles, companies, and start/end dates
  • Add or edit achievements and responsibility bullets
  • Add new positions manually
  • Remove positions you don't want to include

Skills

Build a comprehensive, evidence-backed skill inventory.

Skills are organized by category, with proficiency and primary flags. You can:

  • Categorize skills as technical, soft, language, tool, or framework
  • Set a proficiency level for each skill
  • Mark your strongest skills as primary
  • Attach evidence from your real experience to back up each skill

AI Skill Discovery

Find the skills you'd never think to list.

Skill Discovery is a conversational AI interview that asks about your real work history and:

  • Asks personalized questions grounded in your actual experience
  • Identifies skills hidden in your achievements
  • Suggests skills and experiences for you to accept or reject, so nothing is added without your approval
  • Supports both text and voice input

Education & Certifications

Showcase your qualifications.

  • Education: add degrees, institutions, fields of study, and graduation dates
  • Certifications: add professional certifications with issuing organizations and dates
  • Both sections strengthen ATS matching and demonstrate your qualifications to employers

Job Tracking

Capture jobs, track every application, and research before you apply.

Adding Jobs

Two ways to add a job to your pipeline.

From a URL (recommended)

  • Paste a job posting link and AI extracts the title, company, salary, and location
  • Works with postings from most major job boards

Paste the description

  • Paste the job description text directly when there's no shareable link

Application Statuses

Stay organized throughout your search.

Move each application through six clear stages:

  • Saved: bookmarked to apply to later
  • Applied: you've submitted your application
  • Interviewing: you're in the interview process
  • Offer: you've received an offer
  • Rejected: the application didn't move forward
  • Archived: closed out and tucked away

Interviews & Outreach

Rehearse out loud, walk in with a dossier, and follow up well.

AI Mock Interviews

Practice a real interview and get scored, honest feedback.

  1. 1Open a saved job and click Start Mock Interview — or go to Mock Interviews → Practice without a job and paste any role you want to rehearse for.
  2. 2Pick the format: Behavioral, Role-specific, Phone screen, One-way screener, or AI phone screen.
  3. 3Choose a difficulty (Warmup, Realistic, or Tough), how many questions (3, 5, or 8), and who's interviewing you — a preset persona or a researched contact from that job.
  4. 4Answer one question at a time. Each answer is graded straight away on relevance, specificity, and STAR completeness, with one concrete fix to apply next time.
  5. 5Finish for a scorecard: overall readiness, per-dimension scores, a coach's debrief, and a Redo weakest 3 loop that re-asks the questions you struggled with.

What your plan includes

  • AI mock interviews are a Plus feature
  • Trials preview them in full, voice included
  • On Standard, starting a new session is blocked — but every past session and scorecard stays viewable
Tip: Practice is graded honestly against your own experience. Resumello will never feed you answers during a real interview — the edge that lasts is being genuinely ready.

Voice Practice & Delivery Feedback

Answer out loud, the way you will on the day.

Choose the voice format at setup and the session runs hands-free:

  • The interviewer speaks each question aloud, then your mic opens — replay the question or mute the voice any time
  • Your take stops on its own after a natural pause (or press Done answering), and the transcript is submitted for you, with no edit step
  • Answers are capped like the real thing: three minutes by default, a hard two-minute cap on one-way screeners, and about 90 seconds on the AI phone screen
  • Switch to typing mid-session if you'd rather not speak

Delivery coaching

Voice sessions add a delivery panel to your scorecard, alongside — never instead of — the substance scores:

  • Speaking pace against the 120-160 words-per-minute ideal band
  • Filler words per minute and hedging per answer
  • Your longest unbroken monologue
Tip: Voice needs microphone permission in your browser. A silent or near-silent take is rejected before it's scored, so re-record instead of submitting dead air.

Interview Prep Packs

A job-specific dossier you can take into the room.

Open a saved job and click Interview Prep Pack. Resumello assembles:

  • A company snapshot: what they do, their values, culture notes, and recent news
  • A role brief with responsibilities, success metrics, and a prep checklist
  • The questions you're likely to be asked, each paired with one of your own STAR stories
  • A grounded pitch: tell-me-about-yourself, why this company, why this role, plus 30- and 60-second elevator versions
  • Sharp questions to ask them — and per-interviewer talking points when interviewer research exists for the job (Plus)

Good to know

  • Generation runs in the background; the page follows along and shows the dossier as soon as it's ready
  • Each job gets one pack. Once it's built you can refresh the pitch and the questions-to-ask sections individually instead of rebuilding the whole thing
  • Download the finished pack as a branded PDF
  • Prep packs need an active subscription (your trial counts) — they aren't Plus-only

Outreach & Thank-You Notes

Follow up without staring at a blank email.

Thank-you notes

  • Pick a recipient from the interview contacts saved on that job, or write a general note
  • Add what you actually discussed and the draft is built around it, from your real experience
  • Edit the draft, copy it, or open it straight in your email client

Outreach

  • Choose an intent: informational interview, referral ask, reconnecting with a dormant contact, or a hiring-manager intro
  • Add the contact's name and how you know them, pick a short or medium length, then edit before you send

Follow-up reminders

  • Set a follow-up date on the job — it defaults to five business days out
  • Setting that date is free; AI drafting needs an active subscription (your trial counts)
Tip: Drafts aren't saved. Copy the text (or send it) before you leave the page.
